Hollywood Foreign Press Donates $250,000 to Assist in Hurricane Relief

By Chris Boylan
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced today that it has donated $250,000 to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The donation, speedily approved and expedited by the HFPA's members, follows last January's $250,000 contribution made to four charitable organizations involved in the tsunami relief effort in Asia. Over the past two years, the HFPA has given more than $2,500,000 in financial grants and donations.

"Our members responded immediately to the call for help," said Philip Berk, HFPA President, "and we urge the Hollywood community and the public at large to do the same."

You too can help in the recovery and rebuilding efforts with a donation to the Red Cross at http://www.redcross.org.
