VIZIO Unveils New Audio Gear Including Wireless 5.1 Sound Bars

By Rachel Cericola

Yesterday, we were talking up new VIZIO TVs and what some of those new TVs will be able to do. Today, it's all about audio. Yes, VIZIO is will have plenty of audio options for 2015; seven of them, in fact.

The company's 2015 home audio collection is designed to complement every and any TV in the house. In other words, you should be able to find something for that 32-incher in the bedroom, as well as the larger screen that's the centerpiece of your living room.

At the top of the 2015 collection is the all-new 40" 5.1 Sound Bar System. Promising a true 5.1 surround sound experience, the 40" 5.1 Sound Bar System package includes a three-channel soundbar, a wireless subwoofer, and two rear satellite speakers. Designed for TVs 47 inches and up, this model can reportedly output a Sound Pressure Level of 102dB with less than 1% total harmonic distortion. It even has HDMI support for the best tethered sound experience possible, as well as Bluetooth with aptX for streaming music from a portable directly to the speaker. Other features include built-in Dolby Digital surround sound and support for DTS, including DTS Digital Surround, DTS TruVolume, and others.

Of course, the company will offer six other speaker options in the 2015 audio collection. That includes the smaller 38" 5.1 Sound Bar System and the 38" 2.1 Sound Bar System, which drops the number of total speakers. For smaller spaces, VIZIO is launching the 2.1 Sound Stand and the 2.0 Sound Stand, which stacks that sound under the TV either as a stand or inside a cabinet. And finally, for a single-speaker solution, the 38" 2.0 Sound Bar and 29" 2.0 Sound Bar will also be available.

All seven models have been designed to complement the 2015 VIZIO Smart TV collection. Each one also ships with an easy-to-use display remote, with select models including a built-in LCD screen. This allows for easy Bluetooth pairing and access to various settings, including the option to enable/disable audio technologies. In addition to white LED indicators and manual controls, select speaker models will also have alloy speaker covers with anodized aluminum accents.

VIZIO is selling the 40" 5.1 Sound Bar System now, priced at $349.99. The 38" 5.1 Sound Bar System and 38" 2.1 Sound Bar System are also available for $249.99 and $179.99, respectively. The 2.1 Sound Stand and 2.0 Sound Stand are selling for $249.99 and $149.99. And finally, the 38" 2.0 Sound Bar and 29" 2.0 Sound Bar are priced at $99.99 and $79.99.
