Last Chance for 3 Months Free FSD with Tesla Car Purchase

By Chris Boylan

Tesla's referral program has undergone a lot of changes through the years. The earliest version gave Tesla owners the ability to earn premium rewards like a Tesla PowerWall home battery storage system or even a Tesla Roadster 2.0 (though these still haven't started shipping yet). Buyers who used an owner's referral code could get perks as well like a discount on the car or free Supercharging miles.

Currently, those who buy a Tesla Model Y, Model S or Model X using a referral code or referral link can still get an extended three-month trial of the company's latest FSD (Full Self-Driving) system, but only if they order their car with a referral link before April 30.

If you have a friend or family member who owns a Tesla car or solar power system, ask them for their referral code or referral link. If you need one, feel free to use ours (the referral code is embedded in the link):

If you're planning to order a Tesla Model Y, now's the best time to do so as it's still eligible for the full $7,500 tax credit (for eligible US buyers) and it's at its lowest price ever. A base rear-wheel drive Model Y is down to $42,990 in the United States. After the $7,500 tax credit (which is now applied at the point of purchase), the net price comes down to $35,490 plus any fees and local taxes. That's about $12,000 lower than the average price of a new car or truck sold in the United States last year. Plus owning an EV will save you on fuel and maintenance costs, with Tesla rated by Consumer Reports as the lowest cost car to maintain over 10 years.

As for Full Self-Driving, although you'll hear lots of exaggerated negative press about the feature, it remains the most advanced driver assist software in the world, with over a billion miles driven by Tesla drivers using the FSD feature. And every mile driven means more learning for the advanced AI at the heart of FSD. The feature recently graduated from "FSD Beta" to "FSD (Supervised)." Yes, you DO still have to pay attention while using the feature -- and it will automatically turn itself off if you don't -- but FSD is getting very good at navigating even the most challenging driving conditions in the real world.

After April 30, the rewards of the Tesla Referral Program will be on hold for an indeterminate amount of time. Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to customer enquiries about on X (formerly Twitter) and said they would launch a new version of the referral program, likely some time later this year. But for now, the only way to grab that three month free trial of FSD is to order at Tesla using a referral link or referral code by April 30:
