HDTV Deals: Killer Pricing on Panasonic VIERA LCD and Plasma TVs

By Rachel Cericola

To make room for Panasonic's newly announced 2011 model year plasma, LED and LCD TVs, Amazon is blowing out their remaining inventory of 2010 model year Panasonic televisions, including LCD and plasma HDTV models in all sizes. From a 22-inch 720p LCD TV for $177.99 (save 53%) to a top of the line 54-inch 3D-capable 1080p plasma for $2182.26 (save 27%), you're sure to find the size and performance you're looking for, at a price that won't break the bank. Also, if you buy the 54-inch 3D capable model (the TC-P54VT25), as well as a Blu-ray 3D player and the Avatar 3D Starter Kit, you'll get an additional $400 back -- making those extra accessories practically free. More about that deal in a bit...

First, you need to choose a TV, and there's a lot to look at here. A total of eight different models are on sale, from now through February 26, 2011. Check out all of the models that are on sale here:

Of the eight models being offered, the smallest option is the Panasonic's TC-L22X2 720p HDTV. The small size and 720p HD image make this a nice option for the bedroom, basement or other smaller space. However, you won't have to sacrifice on entertainment possibilities, since this model comes packing its own iPod dock. That little extra allows you to park your iPod or iPhone, and access music and video using your TV remote and the on-screen menu. Find out more about this option, as well as the HDTV's other features on Amazon's product page:

For something slightly larger, Amazon is offering discounts on 46- and 54-inch models from Panasonic's G25 series. Both TVs offer a full 1080p image, THX certification, the 600Hz Sub-field Drive, and three HDMI inputs. There's also a host of VIERA features, such as VIERA Image Viewer, VIERA Link, and VIERA Cast. The VIERA Cast service allows viewers to tap into Amazon Video on Demand, Netflix, Pandora, Twitter, YouTube, and Picasa. Add in the TY-CC10 camera, and you can also use either set to make Skype calls. Find out more about both models on Amazon:

Buy the TC-P54VT25 3D TV, as well as a Blu-ray 3D player and the Avatar 3D Starter Kit, and you'll get an extra $400 credited to your shopping cart.
If you want to add some 3D into that mix, Amazon is also offering a few of those sets at a discount. The cream of the crop is Panasonic's 54-inch TC-P54VT25 1080p plasma. This model includes all of the same features as the G25 series above, but adds in 3D and even comes with one pair of 3D glasses, so you can check out those features right out of the box.

If you want extra glasses, a movie or even a Blu-ray 3D player, this might be the TV for you. This TV is connected to another Amazon deal, which will credit you $400 if you buy the TV, Panasonic's DMP-BDT100 Blu-ray 3D player, and the Ultimate 3D Starter Kit. That kit includes another two pairs of 3D glasses and Avatar on Blu-ray 3D Disc. Check the TV's product page for more information on this deal -- because it's like getting all of those extra goodies almost entirely free.

The TC-P54VT25 is also an awesome choice for all of your 2D TV viewing needs. Our own Chris Boylan recently checked out the 50-inch version of this model, saying that the set is "simply the finest TV we have reviewed in 2010 for both 2D and 3D viewing." That's some serious praise! Check out what Chris had to say in his full review of the TC-P50VT25 or check out the TC-P54VT25 on Amazon:

You'll want to jump on these discounts quickly, since they are only available through the end of this week (February 26, 2011) or until the retailer runs out of stock. Just make sure you buy directly from Amazon and not one of its third-party merchants. That way, you'll get the discount, the free shipping, free 30-day returns and Amazon's TV Low Price Guarantee. That guarantee means that if you find your purchase at a cheaper price within 14 days of shipment, Amazon will refund you the difference.
