Four New Panasonic 3D TV Lines Encompass Plasma and LED LCD

Panasonic's massive CES 2011 rollout is highlighted by no less than 14 Full HD 3D TVs, with a group of LED-lit 3D LCDs joining their renowned 3D plasmas. There are three different VIERA Full HD 3D Plasma model lines: the VT30 Series, GT30 and ST30 Series.

The VIERA VT30 Series includes both the 65-inch class (64. 7 inches, measured diagonally) TC-P65VT30 and the 55-inch class (55.1 inches diagonally) TC-P55VT30. These models feature a one-sheet glass design for a sleek new look. Beyond 3D viewing support, they offer the enhanced IPTV VIERA Connect service, with Skype video/voice calling. They also provide USB connectivity for the addition of a wireless LAN adaptor, keyboard and/or USB memory.  Joining Amazon Video-on-Demand. Netflix, Pandora, Twitter, Fox Sports, YouTube, Picasa, Bloomberg and weather will be new apps such as Napster, Hulu Plus, CinemaNow, Facebook and access to such sport sites as NHL, NBA, MLB and MLS2.

These TVs are also THX-certified, with 24p playback, a 600Hz subfield drive producing 1080 lines of moving picture resolution, four HDMI ports, a RS232C/ISF connection and an Infinite Black Pro 2 panel. The VT30 series will be available in spring 2011, with pricing to be announced.

The VIERA GT30 tenders the TC-P65GT30, TC-P60GT30, TC-P55GT30 and the TC-P50GT30, in 64-inch class, 60-inch class (60.1 diagonally), 55-inch class and 50-inch class (49.9 inches) respectively. The THX-certified TVs boast the Infinite Black 2 Panel, 600Hz subfield drive, VIERA Connect, VIERA Link, Skype video/voice calling, and broad 3D support. The GT30 models will ship in the spring of 2011, with pricing to be determined.

The last of the new 3D plasmas are in the VIERA ST30 Series, with six screen sizes ranging from 42 to 65 inches: the TC-P65ST30, a 65-inch class, TC-P60ST30, TC-P55ST30, TC-P50ST30, TC-P46ST30 and the TC-P42ST30. They all include the Infinite Black 2 panel; VIERA Connect, VIERA Link, Skype video/voice calling, the 600Hz subfield drive and the same robust 3D support. The ST30 TVS will be available in spring 2011, with pricing TBD.

As mentioned earlier, the expanding LCD-LED line now includes a pair of Full HD 3D models for 2011 in the DT30 Series, the 37-inch class TC-L37DT30 and the 32-inch class TC-L32DT30. they provide 1080p resolution via the IPS Alpha panel, along with VIERA Connect, VIERA Link, DLNA interoperability, multiple HDMI and USB ports plus a PC input. Once again, the final availability dates and pricing are still being figured out.
