HDTV Deal: Panasonic 50-inch 3D-Ready 1080p Plasma TV: $819.98 with Free Blu-ray 3D Player (TC-P50ST30)

By Rachel Cericola

With the holidays approaching fast, you probably don't want to spend more than you have to. If you're going to buy a big-screen HDTV, it's nice to save a few bucks. Amazon wants to give you that discount, as well as throw in a little freebie -- and who doesn't love gifts during the holiday season?

Amazon is currently offering a free Panasonic DMP-BDT110 Blu-ray player with the purchase of select Panasonic HDTVs. We found the 50-inch TC-P50ST30 1080p 3D Plasma listed as one of the eligible models, and it's on sale for a cool $819.98, which does include free shipping. If that's a little too big (or too small), there are plenty of big screens on sale. We found a total of 11 different 3D plasmas available, in sizes ranging from 46 to 65 inches. Find out more about the qualifying models, as well as the discounts, on Amazon's main deal page:

The 50-inch TC-P50ST30 offers 3D and a full 1080p HD image. It's currently on sale, for $600 off the list price.

The 50-inch TC-P50ST30 typically lists for $1,499.95, so this is a nice deal indeed. Also, with Amazon's 14-day price guarantee, if the TV goes on sale for less on Black Friday from Amazon or another legitimate dealer, you can contact Amazon and they will refund you the difference.  So you really can get Black Friday deals early if you shop on Amazon.com.

Besides the 3D support and a full 1080p HD image, this model also boasts Infinite Black 2 technology for better blacks and lifelike imagery, 3D 24p Cinema Smoother for better playback of fast-moving images, and 600Hz subfield drive technology.

The DMP-BDT110 can play back 2D and 3D Blu-rays, DVDs and CDs. It also has internal support for Panasonic's own VIERA Cast service.

If you put everything in your cart properly, you should see the price of the player discounted in your cart at final checkout.
Also, because this is a Panasonic VIERA, it comes with a lot of the usual VIERA perks, including VIERA Image Viewer and VIERA Link for linking AV devices. It also has VIERA Connect, which is new for 2011. This feature offers a wealth of additional AV entertainment right from your remote. Current VIERA Connect offerings include Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube, Amazon VOD, Facebook, Pandora, Skype (with something like the FreeTalk Conference HD Camera), and so much more.

Other features on this model include three HDMI inputs and two USB ports, so you can add in a variety of other AV devices. Our own Ian White took a peek at this model earlier this year and said, "you can achieve some jaw-dropping picture quality out of it if you calibrate it properly." In fact, he loved is so much, it received the BPBS BIGGIE award. (That's some high praise!) Check out his full Panasonic TC-P50ST30 3D HDTV Review or Amazon's TC-P50ST30 product page for more info:

That free Blu-ray player is nothing to sneeze at, either. This is the DMP-BDT110, which doesn't just play Blu-ray discs, but it also does Blu-ray 3D discs -- as well as DVDs and CDs. It also offers VIERA Cast, which can deliver on-screen access to Netflix, VUDU, Pandora, and much more. We reviewed this model as well and said, "The DMP-BDT110 offers excellent 3D and 2D Blu-ray playback, and can even spruce up a few of those golden-oldie DVDs with excellent upconversion." To get that free Blu-ray 3D player, you need to add a qualifying Panasonic HDTV, as well as the DMP-BDT110, into your shopping cart. Don't worry about being charged! Right before you check out, you will see the cost of the player removed from your order.

Just remember that you need to buy both directly from Amazon (not one of its third-party merchants), if you want the savings, the free Blu-ray 3D player, and Super Saver shipping. Better shop soon, though! This offer is only good through 11:59 p.m. (PST) on November 12, 2011, or whenever the retailer runs out of stock.
