Visual Reality Releases Reality Screens - Home Theater Projection Screens Powered by Goo

By Chris Boylan

Goo Systems' Screen Goo projection screen paint has been a favorite low-cost high performance screen alternative here at Big Picture Big Sound for some time. If you don't mind putting a little manual effort into fabrication of your home theater projection screen, Screen Goo will allow you to get excellent performance from a front projection system for a minimal investment. For tips on how to do it, check out our paint your own projection screen article series.

But some people want the reflective performance of Goo's specialized paint formulation without the time and effort involved in preparing, priming, taping and painting the wall. And now Goo Systems' U.S. distributor Visual Reality is doing just that, by releasing a line of pre-painted nicely framed projections screens based on popular Goo formulations.

Visual Reality's Reality Screens come with your choice of frame.

Visual Reality's "Reality Screens" - lightweight pre-assembled custom-framed screens that are manufactured using Screen Goo as the reflective material, are available in Goo's "CRT White" and "Ultra Grey" colors. Reality Screens also come with your choice of custom mouldings - more like picture frames actually. So you can pick a design that fits in best with your decor or design theme.

Reality Screens come in a standard 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio with easy to mount black masking panels that change the screen aspect ratio to 4:3 when you want to watch traditional standard definition television programming. CinemaScope (2.35:1) aspect ratios are also available.

Reality Screens are available now in 92-inch ($1,199) and 106-inch ($1,399) sizes. Masking panels are available for $149-$199 depending on which screen size you choose.
