VIZIO just put names, prices and specs to another eight models in its growing roster of HDTVs, these featuring cutting edge features and performance such as LED backlighting, 240 Hz processing and internet content access. The company’s Fall 2009 Extreme VIZIO Technology (XVT) series lineup will include sizes ranging from 32 to 55 inches.

Aside from sizes and affordable prices (a 55-incher for $1,999!), the company also says that the sets will be ready to dazzle. The 42-, 47- and 55-inch LCDs will include 240Hz SPS (Scenes Per Second) and Smooth Motion technology, with two models adding in TruLED with Smart Dimming backlight features. They will also release 32- and 37-inch 120Hz Slim Line designs.

All will feature USB video inputs, the Energy Star 3.0 seal of approval, and a Mega Dynamic Contrast Ratio of up to 2,000,000:1. The audio is provided by SRS Labs’ TruSurround HD.

Some sets will also feature access to VIZIO Internet Apps (VIA) previously known as the "Connected HDTV" platform. The company just made an announcement of new partners for the on-screen service. Expect to be able to access content from Amazon Video On Demand, Flickr, Facebook, Showtime, Twitter, Rhapsody and Vudu, among others -- all from your TV's remote control.
