Grrr! I'm gonna get me some High Def Deals!

Note: 2009 Cyber Monday Deals are here:

On the heels of a successful Thanksgiving and Black Friday 2008 weekend, online retailers are barely stopping to catch their collective breath as they prepare new deals for the bargain-hungry online shoppers, returning to work today and surfing the Web for deals (during their lunch hours, of course). From scouring the Web and with a little inside information from our affiliate partners, what follows are the best deals we've found for Cyber Monday. A complete list of deals is available on our HDTV and Blu-ray Deals page.  Keep in mind that many of these will not last out the day, so if you see the deal you want, and it's in stock, then snag it in your cart and check out before someone else grabs the last one.

Why we like these deals:

The beleaguered electronics retailer Circuit City isn't standing around waiting for the repo men to take away their fixtures. Instead they're fighting back with a strong Cyber Monday sale including a number of popular HDTV models from name brand manufacturers such as Sony and Samsung. The sale started early (Sunday) and will run throughout the day Sunday and Monday. Featured models include a 32-inch Sony LCD HDTV for $499 (also on Sears.com):

If you're jonesing for something with a bigger picture, then check out Samsung's 40-incher for $799 or the 46-inch A500 model for $1099. Each offer full HD 1080p resolution:

Dell has also stepped up to the plate this year with some great deals on HDTVs, including the best deal on a 46-inch 1080p from a name brand (Sharp). They have Sharp's LC46SB54U for $899:

Sears has been coming on strong this holiday season with some good deals on HDTVs and home theater systems. Best bargains are reserved for Sears Card shoppers who get a 10% cash rebate (by mail) on electronics and home theater purchases over $999. One stand-out deal on the Sears site is a 50-inch Samsung plasma HDTV for $899:

And lest you think that the sales only apply to entry-level models, Amazon is providing excellent incentives to the more well-heeled among us who want best-in-class large screen HDTVs at discount prices. Those who purchase one of Samsung's high-end 120 Hz 1080p 52-inch LCD HDTV models along with a Samsung Blu-ray Player will get not only a great price on the TV and the player, but an additional instant discount of $150 deducted at purchase time.

And if you're looking for the top-rated 1080p Plasma models from Panasonic and Pioneer you can find these on sale today too:

If you've already picked up your HDTV and are looking for a nice 1080p High Def disc player and movies to feed it, Cyber Monday holds some bargains for Blu-ray shoppers as well. Amazon has just begun a new sale: buy one of select high-end Blu-ray players including models from Denon, Panasonic, LG, Pioneer and Onkyo, plus four Warner Blu-ray titles and you'll save $75 on your purchase. Be sure to enter code SAVEBD75 in the promotional code box at checkout.  Consider the fact that Amazon already has just about the lowest prices on these players, this additional incentive is a good way to bring home a player for the holidays along with some high def movies to play on it:

Amazon is also offering a killer deal on a selection of Blu-ray Discs. When you buy more you save more (save $20 on 3, $50 on 6 or $100 on 10 discs). With this offer, you can pick up the six recently remastered classic James Bond films for under $40 (about $170 off their regular list price). Don't forget to select "Super Saver" shipping at check-out to get these shipped free:

J&R is also playing the Blu-ray Blowout game with Blu-ray Discs starting at $4.99 a piece on Cyber Monday:

Check in during the course of the day to our HDTV and Blu-ray Deals page for any late-breaking additions and go out there and stimulate that economy!
