Blowout Sale Prices on 2009 Denon Home Theater Receivers and More

By Rachel Cericola

We love spring cleaning here at Big Picture Big Sound. However, instead of dusting off old A/V components, we just like to replace them with new ones. Thankfully, Electronics Expo has a whopping 13 deals on some very nice equipment.

First and foremost, they have deals on six different receivers -- four of them are from Denon. Now, these are 2009 models, so you won't get any of the HDMI 1.4a goodies. However, if you don't plan to do the 3D thing, you might want to take a peek at what's offered.

The Denon AVR-1910 features support for Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and Dolby Pro Logic IIz. On the video side, this 7.1 receiver has an Anchor Bay Video Reference Series processor to provide analog-to-digital video deinterlacing and upconversion to HD. Other features include four HDMI inputs and Audyssey MultEQ room acoustic measurement and correction system. If you need more info, check out our AVR-1910 review. (Just a hint: Our own Peter Suciu loved it!)

We loved the AVR-1910, which has support for Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and Dolby Pro Logic IIz.

Next, the AVR-3310CI is a 7.1-channel receiver boasting support for the same audio formats as the 1910. The difference here is that the 3310CI throws in networking features, which means you can stream audio and photos right from your home PC. If you're sick of what your collection has to offer, the unit can also tap into Rhapsody and Napster (subscription required). Other features include Audyssey's MultEQ room acoustic measurement and correction system (with microphone), five HDMI inputs, and Anchor Bay's ABT-2010 advanced video deinterlacing and upconversion.

Another 7.1 offering is the AVR-4310CI. This also offers support for Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and Pro Logic IIz. Featuring Audyssey's Dynamic Surround Expansion, the unit promises a more enveloping soundstage and immersive overall experience. Other features include upconversion via Anchor Bay VRS processing, six HDMI inputs, two HDMI outputs, and the Audyssey MultEQ XT room acoustic correction system. The unit also features built-in HD Radio, as well as options for XM and Sirius services (subscription required).

If you have a few more speakers (and subwoofers), the AVR-4810CI would be a very nice addition to that mix. This 9.3-channel receiver offers support for all of the same audio formats as above, with each channel rated at 140 watts. It has a full suite of Audyssey sound processing functions, with Anchor Bay's VRS processing handling the video. Other features include MultEQ XT eight point room acoustic measurement and correction, Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ, and a DSX decoder. It also has a vertical stretch mode for anamorphic 2.40:1 widescreen projection, as well as six HDMI inputs, an AM/FM tuner, HD Radio, and options for XM and Sirius.

There are a few other 7.1-channel receivers on sale as well. Make sure to use the applicable coupon codes!

If you're not in the market for a receiver, there are a few other products you might want to peek at. First, we have three sets of the extremely popular, extremely cool Beats by Dr. Dre headphones. Check out Chris Chiarella's review of the Studio version for some insight.

Sennheiser doesn't have the Dr. Dre seal of approval, but they have very nice headphones -- at a rockin' price!

Three more goodies at great prices:

At last look, Electronics Expo was offering free shipping on some of the items above -- not all though! Check each product before you buy. Don't wait though; the deals are only valid through May 19, 2010.

Please note: all deals posted on Big Picture Big Sound are current as of the posting date and time. These deals are frequently time- or stock-limited and generally do not last. Final pricing and stock are determined by the individual deal provider, not by Big Picture Big Sound so you will need to click through on the offer link to see if it is still available. Through our affiliate relationships with many online vendors, Big Picture Big Sound may earn a small commission on any referred sale.
