Big Deal: 65-inch Panasonic 3D-Ready 1080p HDTV for $2032.20 (TC-P65ST30)

By Deal Meister

Thinking about exploring the third dimension at home? You better be prepared to go big. Today's 3D TVs can produce some stunning 3D images, but watching 3D movies or sports on a 50-inch TV makes it look downright puny. Fortunately manufacturers and retailers are offering some great deals on larger flat panel TVs right now so you can go huge without taking a huge bite out of your bank account.

Today and tomorrow, Amazon is currently offering two overlapping promotions that can allow you to take home a huge 3D-ready HDTV, complete with two pairs of active 3D glasses at a super low price. First, if you pay with American Express, you can save an additional 10% off Amazon's already low pricing on select HDTVs. Secondly, Amazon is throwing in two pairs of full HD active 3D glasses with the purchase of select Panasonic 3D-ready HDTVs. Bottom line? You can take home Panasonic's 3D-Ready 65-inch Full HD 1080p plasma HDTV (model TC-P65ST30) for the low price of $2032.20, with two pairs of 3D glasses and enhanced shipping included in the price.  That's nearly $1500 below the list price of the TV and glasses.

Panasonic's 65-inch TC-P65ST30 HDTV provides full HD 1080p resolution both in 2D and 3D modes.

This set is a larger version of the 50-inch ST30 which won our prestigious BIGGIE Award when it was reviewed by Ian White earlier this year. Read his TC-P50ST30 review for more details of visit Amazon's TC-P65ST30 product page. It's a full HD 1080p HDTV, which uses active shutter 3D glasses to produce a full high definition 1080p image in 2D or 3D modes (unlike passive 3D TVs which lose resolution in 3D mode). In addition to 3D capabilities, the set offers an excellent 2D image, with deep blacks and bold, beautiful colors. The set also includes Panasonic's VIERA Connect feature, so you can connect to streaming apps such as Netflix, Amazon VOD, Pandora, YouTube and even Skype, right from your TV.

To get this deal, add both the TV and the twin pack of glasses to your cart from this offer page:

The cost of the 3D glasses kit (around $200) will be deducted from your cart at checkout. To save an additional 10% on the TV price, you will need to pay using an American Express card, then on the final screen of the check-out, provide a promotion code of AMEXTV10. Pay attention during check-out to be sure all discounts have beeen applied to your cart. See below for an example of what this looks like.

Also, a similar deal applies to the slightly higher end GT30 series Televisions. The 65-inch version of that set offers some additional enhancements to picture quality, producing an even better image with brighter colors, deeper blacks and better overall contrast. With the GT30 series set, you get a free 3D Starter Kit which comes with 2 pairs of 3rd generation 3D glasses plus the Avatar Blu-ray 3D disc (a Panasonic exclusive). The 65-inch version of the GT30 (TC-P65GT30) can be had today for just $2287.79 after all discounts are applied.  See this offer page for details.

Amazon offers free enhanced shipping on all large screen TVs as well as a 14-day price match policy and 30-day no cost returns so it's an excellent place to buy a TV. The free glasses offer expires September 17th, but the AMEX 10% discount expires tomorrow (August 31) at midnight Pacific Time so grab one while you can.
