Yamaha RX-V861 Home Theater Receiver

Yamaha has long held a position at or near the top of the home theater receiver food chain with their well designed powerful amplifiers, rich feature set and excellent sound quality.  Their current model 1080p-compatible upconverting HDMI-switching home theater receiver, the RX-V861 makes an excellent center-piece for a home theater system featuring two 1080p-capable HDMI inputs (version 1.2a) and 3 HD-compatible component video inputs as well as the usual assortment of composite and S-Video connections. It will convert all analog and digital video signals up to HDMI digital output so you'll only need a single HDMI cable between the receiver and your HDTV or projector.

And now it's on clearance on OneCall.com for $399.97 shipped - that's less than half its original list price!

The receiver features 105 Watts per channel into 7 channels and is XM-Ready (including XM HD Neural Surround support). The receiver is also iPod-friendly via its compatibility with Yamaha's optional  Universal Dock.

While the receiver does not include on-board decoding of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, it does fully support multi-channel digital PCM surround sound.  So if you have a Sony PlayStation 3 or other Blu-ray Disc player with on-board decoding of DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD, this receiver is a perfect match - it will take that lossless multi-channel digital surround sound signal and convert it to amazing analog sound and deliver this to your speakers and subwoofer so you can rock the house!
