Warner HD-DVD Sale: Up to 53% Off (and Blu-ray Too)

By Big Picture Big Sound Deal Meister

As Warner's May deadline for dropping support for HD-DVD draws near, one would expect to see their catalog of over 100 HD-DVD titles go on sale, at fairly substantial discounts.  And right now, over 25 of Warner's HD-DVD movie catalog is on sale on Amazon.com, but with a twist - their Blu-ray equivalents are also on sale, for the same prices.  These titles are priced from $14.95 and up, representing discounts of 45% to 54%.

The cynic in me says this is just a clever ploy to help retailers get rid of existing inventory in HD-DVD titles without creating the perception (or the reality) of a "fire sale" on HD-DVD software.  But the deal lover in me says that no matter how you slice it, this is a good opportunity to take home some first rate movies in full fledged high definition in either format for about half the list price.

So if you've been Jonesing for new releases such as "Superman Returns," or "Blood Diamond" or classic films such as "Blazing Saddles" or "Enter the Dragon" in all their full high definition 1080p glory, then now is a good time to buy these and about 2 dozen other high definition Warner titles in either Blu-ray Disc or HD-DVD format.

As always, these sales may be discontinued without notice, so act now, supplies are limited, yadda yadda yadda.

Pick your poison: HD-DVD or Blu-ray Disc - they're both on sale on Amazon.com.
