Can I Combine OTA HDTV Antenna with Satellite Dish on One Coax Cable?
By Chris Boylan
Question:
Dear Expert,
Can I split my satellite cable line box on my roof to add a HDTV antenna? Will this work through the same coax cable?
Thanks,
-Nino R.
Answer:
Hi, Nino,
You can combine satellite and OTA (broadcast) HDTV antenna signals on one line through the use of 2 diplexers (one to combine them and another to separate them back out). You cannot use a standard splitter, it has to be a diplexer.
Here's one that should work with current DIRECTV or DISH Network signals:
Hope that helps.
