The OscarAfter an unusually unbearable Red Carpet show hosted by Tim Gunn, Academy Awards host Hugh Jackman gave a nod to the recession with a typically kitschy opening number featuring cardboard sets and a cameo by a game Anne Hathaway. Mere minutes into the show the show's writers already referenced the unfortunate snubbing of "The Dark Knight" as well as the equally unfortunate inclusion of "The Reader".  Following a few more minutes of star-loving - and a wildly too-soon montage - the show began in earnest.

Despite protestations of downsizing the show, however, the producers decided to trot out past supporting actress winners to personally introduce the current nominees one at a time. Fifteens minutes into the show, still no awards.

We'll be updating this page in real time with the winners of the 81st Annual Academy Awards. In the list below, you'll see the Big Picture Big Sound pick (in italics, with a subtle "Our Pick!" next to them) and then you'll see the winners as they're announced in italics and boldface (with "Winner!" next to them).
