Onkyo's TX-SR573 packs a home theater punch in an affordable package. It's available in either silver or black finish (black pictured).
Onkyo's home theater receivers have been a Big Picture Big Sound favorite for some time now, and we always like to see them go on sale so more folks can enjoy them.

The TX-SR573 occupies the middle of Onkyo's receiver line and includes all the essentials - HD-capable component video switching for up to 3 sources, XM-readiness (just add their plug-and-play antenna), 7.1 channel surround support plus compatibility with Onkyo's advanced DS-A1 iPod dock.

It's now available in either silver or black finish for under $300 plus shipping from OneCall

Here's some more info on the 573 from the original press release:

Onkyo has introduced the TX-SR573, an affordable 7.1-channel A/V receiver with high end features including XM Satellite radio capability and enhanced compatibility with Onkyo's recently introduced DS-A1 iPod control dock. It delivers 7x75 watts of power, an exhaustive set of surround sound processing, 100 MHz component video switching, and a newly designed preprogrammed remote control. The Onkyo TX-SR573 is currently available in both black and silver finishes at a suggested retail price of just $400.

In addition to its high quality AM/FM radio tuner, the TX-SR573 is one of the company's first XM Ready receivers, making it easier than ever to enjoy XM Satellite radio in the home. Using one of the widely available XM Connect-and-Play antennas, consumers can subscribe to and receive 150 channels of commercial-free music, news, talk, and entertainment programming directly through their entertainment system.

The TX-SR573 is also designed to take full advantage of the company's recently introduced DS-A1 Remote Interactive (RI) iPod dock/charger. When an iPod is placed in the dock, it becomes a source component for both audio files and photography stored in the portable device, letting consumers listen to their music files and view image libraries directly through the home theater. Controls for the iPod such as play, pause, stop, skip, random and playlist access can all be operated via the TX-SR573's enhanced RI remote control.

The TX-SR573's boasts component video switching with a 100 MHz bandwidth, allowing it to switch up to three high definition and progressive-scan sources without degrading video quality. There are four assignable digital audio inputs, three optical and one coaxial. The receiver also has three A/V inputs with both composite and S-Video connections, a front panel A/V input for convenient connection of portable devices, and RCA line-level connections for a CD player and audio recorder.

The TX-SR573 features a sophisticated 32-bit DSP engine, and high quality linear PCM 192 kHz/24-bit D/A converters for all channels for ideal reproduction of soundtracks and multichannel audio. It includes a full suite of processing for home theater, including Dolby Digital EX, DTS-ES, and even DTS 96/24. With DTS Neo:6 and Dolby ProLogic IIx, the receiver is capable of automatically deriving full 7.1-channel audio from absolutely any stereo or multichannel source.

The Onkyo TX-SR573's seven internal power amplifier channels use high-current, low-impedance discrete output devices to deliver a continuous power output of 75 Watts per channel into 8-Ohm loads. Onkyo's WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology) gives the power stage a linear frequency response from 10 Hz to 100 kHz to ensure it's up to the challenge of the most demanding audio sources, such as SACD and DVD-Audio. There are dual banana-plug-compatible multi-way speaker binding posts for all main channels with color-coding for simplified wiring. There are also front channel "B" terminals to enable the receiver to drive a stereo pair in a second zone while delivering full 5.1-channel audio in the main room.

The dot-matrix fluorescent front panel display makes setup and operation of the receiver easy and fast, including variable speaker configuration and distance settings for simple optimization of any speaker arrangement. The subwoofer pre-out channel includes an adjustable crossover for seamless integration of any satellite and subwoofer combination.

The TX-SR573 will be available in September in either black or silver finishes at a suggested retail price of $400.
