iLuv's i1166 Portable iPod/DVD/DivX Player Does It All?
Combining a vast array of compatibility into an easily portable device, the iLuv multimedia player has hidden parking spaces for an iPod and a plethora of memory cards, in addition to a fully-featured built-in DVD player. Apart from being space-efficient and protective, the screen-on-top clamshell design puts an emphasis on the sharp, colorful nine-inch widescreen TFT-LCD video display. A carrying case is sold separately.
The "CES Best of Innovation 2009" award-winning i1166 model features DivX video playback and simple dock-and-play enjoyment of iPod videos, plus DVDs (including DVD±R/RW discs) as well as video files, MP3/WMA music and JPEG photos stored on SD cards and MultiMedia cards. There's even a USB port to plug in a flash drive. The i1166 represents upgraded picture quality, expanded format compatibility and enhanced user-friendliness versus iLuv's previous models, with an extensive onscreen display/interface.
AC and DC power adapters are included (when the unit is powered via AC it can also charge a connected iPod), while the Li-Polymer rechargeable battery makes it truly portable. A pair of standard headphone mini-jacks enables shared private entertainment, with the help of a remote control, too.
The iLuv i1166 launched last month at a suggested retail price of $269.99.
