We've seen a ton of soundbars recently -- and consumers seem to be loving all of the options. After all, who wants to actually listen to the sound that comes out of their TV?
However, some companies are packing more audio into these options than others. Yamaha just announced the YSP-1400 and the YAS-152, a pair of new soundbar products. Not only do the YSP-1400 and YAS-152 promise big sound from slim cabinets, but each one also adds in Bluetooth streaming. Oh, and there are subwoofers, too. That said, these aren't the type of subwoofers that you need to place around the room and sync to the speakerbar. These subs are actually inside each of those slim speaker cabinets.
Yes, each one of these soundbars has two subwoofers inside. Both also have Bluetooth, so you can wirelessly stream content to the speaker from a smartphone, tablet or other compatible product. It's also worth noting that these new products can support Yamaha's free apps, so you can control volume and power using your favorite iOS and Android devices.
The YSP-1400 packs in Digital Sound Projector technology, as well as Clear Voice and UniVolume options to even out dialogue and volume levels. Promising real 5.1-channel surround sound, this option has eight 1.12-inch drivers and two 3.25-inch woofers for a total of 76 watts of sound. Other features include support for Dolby Digital and DTS Digital Surround, optical and coaxial inputs, two analog inputs, and a subwoofer output.
Designed for TVs 55 inches and up, the YAS-152 promises 7.1-channel virtual surround sound and 120 watts of total power, all via Yamaha's Air Surround Xtreme technology. Other features include TV Remote Repeater, Clear Voice and UniVolume features, as well as support for Dolby Digital, DTS and Dolby Pro Logic II audio formats.
Yamaha is now taking orders for the YSP-1400 and YAS-152, with plans to start shipping sometime in October 2013. The soundbars are listed with MSRPs of $449.95 and $349.95, respectively.
