VIZIO Unveils New Soundbar Line in Time for Holiday Shoppers

By Rachel Cericola

Some of you are going to be getting a brand-new HDTV this holiday season. Of course, some of you are perfectly happy with your current TV model. Either way, it's never too early (or late!) for an upgrade -- and there's no better way to enhance your TV watching than to add some type of audio setup. After all, most TVs don't really sound as good as they look.

An easy way to boost the sound of any TV is by using a soundbar. These compact solutions don't usually pack the same punch as a full-blown speaker system. However, they don't take up the same amount of space and usually don't cost as much, either.

VIZIO just announced four new soundbar options, just in time for your holiday shopping and/or wishlist. Those four products fall under two lines, the E-Series and the M-Series.

Both models promise to boost the everyday TV experience, without taking up a lot of space. Each product does that via the latest SRS technologies and anywhere from 95-101dB of sound, depending on the model. There are two options for each line, so you can pick between having 2.0-channel sound or adding in a subwoofer, which can be placed up to 60 feet away.

All four of the new products promise an easy, clean hookup, using just one cable. It's important to know that there is a difference between the two product lines, with the M-Series adding in support for Dolby Digital, as well as a little screen that displays volume, input setting and more.

Other features across the line include two 2.75-inch drivers, SRS TruSurround HD and SRS TruVolume technology, an included remote, and stand or wall-mount options.

VIZIO has started selling all four of the new soundbar models. The E-Series includes the SB4020E 2.0 Sound Bar (MSRP: $99.99) and the SB4021E 2.1 Sound Bar ($199.99). The M-Series has the SB4020M 2.0 Sound Bar ($119.99) and the SB4021M 2.1 Sound Bar ($229.99).
