VIZIO Bows VBR210, VBR211, VBR231 Blu-ray Players with WiFi, Internet Apps
If you've been saving up for your first (or second or third) Blu-ray player, don't smash your piggybank just yet. You're going to need it -- for the extra money you'll have left over after buying a VIZIO.
The company just announced three insanely affordable Blu-ray players: the VBR210, VBR220 and VBR231. All three devices offer support for VIZIO Internet Apps (VIA). This is VIZIO's own on-screen service, which provides on-demand access to content partners such as VUDU, Netflix and Pandora.
Think you can't afford all of that entertainment? Well, the top of the heap is the VBR231, which lists for $199.99. That's the most expensive one in this new crop!
What gives the VBR231 that top spot is its built-in dual-band 802.11n connectivity. That wireless support uses both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands, which means support in almost any room. Other features include Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS HD audio formats over HDMI, as well as a USB port. Expect the VBR231 to start selling in July, for $199.99.
In case you can't wait, both the VBR210 and VBR220 are available right now. Priced at a low $189.99, each of these players features single-band 2.4GHz 802.11n support. Each one also has the VIA access, making any three of the selections a perfect fit for any room. Other features on these two models include a USB port and support for up to 7.1 channels of Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS HD audio formats.
