Runco Adds SC-30d and SC-35d Digital 2D Projectors to Signature Cinema Series

By Enid Burns

This week at CEDIA Expo 2012, Runco showed its Signature Cinema series, a line of digital 3D home projectors with two models in its initial offering. Runco designed the SC-30d and SC-35d to use digital cinema lenses as an optical system to deliver a crisp, true digital projection.

Both projectors deliver digital cinema-quality video. Runco includes three pairs of active 3D glasses with the Signature Cinema projectors. Both models rely on frame sequential 3D technology, which provides 2D and 3D content on the same screen, with full 1080p HD resolution delivered to both eyes.

The two Signature Cinema projectors are available with Runco's optional and exclusive CineWide and CineWide with AutoScope, a high performance McKinley anamorphic lens. The CineWide lens provides a theatrical experience, projecting 2.35:1 aspect ratio movies as they were intended, removing black bars from letterboxed content. The new Signature Cinema projectors support all aspect ratios without loss of image integrity.

"We are proud to add these two stunning new models to the Signature Cinema line, which has exemplified Runco quality and performance for a generation of enthusiasts," said Jennifer Davis in a corporate statement, vice president of marketing for Runco. "The patented optical system and proprietary Runco processing bring true digital cinema performance into the home and with the SC-30d and SC-35d, we've brought the barrier of entry into this level of performance down to amazingly affordable levels, without compromising on quality."

The SC-30D offers 3500 ANSI lumens of brightness while uncalibrated. When calibrated to Runco's CSMS standards, the projector delivers 87 Foot-Lamberts (fL) of brightness. Both the SC-30d and SC-35d models ship with Runco's new Dimension Digital Controller (DC-300). The controller has been engineered to enhance 3D performance. It can be rack mounted, and has a number of installation options that allow for a customized set-up. The DC-300 is designed to connect directly to all source components, and then connects to the SC-30d or SC-35d projector with a single-wire connection from the processor to the projector.

Runco offers its new SC-30d and SC-35d Signature Cinema series projectors with a sleek chassis, which can be customized with Runco's ColourPalette design options for a truly customized home theater installation.

The SC-30d and SC-35d Signature Cinema series projectors will ship in October. The Runco SC-30d starts at $39,995. The Runco SC-35d starts at $44,995. The SC series features a standard two-year RuncoCare warranty.
