Panasonic Brings Its 2012 CE Products to the People with Raise the Bar Tour

By Rachel Cericola

Who's ready to play with a few high-tech toys? Panasonic is hoping to see a lot of hands (and faces) during its upcoming Raise the Bar Tour.

Panasonic's Raise the Bar Tour is a seven-week North American tour designed to put the people in touch (literally) with some of Panasonic's latest products. The Raise the Bar Tour will kick off on April 11, 2012, with a one-week stint at The Grove in Los Angeles and The Prudential Center in Boston. From there, the company will make stops in New York, San Francisco and several other major North American cities, through May 27. Check out the map below for a listing of dates and venues.

Some of the products expected to be on the tour include Panasonic's 2012 line of Smart VIERA HDTVs, VIERA Connect-enabled IPTVs, Blu-ray players, LUMIX cameras, HD camcorders, several home appliances, and a few personal care products.

The most eye-popping part of the exhibit should be the 3D theater, where Panasonic will be showing off 3D content from the Beijing and Vancouver Olympic Games, as well as a sneak peek at this summer's events in London. Panasonic is working in conjunction with NBC Sports to deliver the first 3D broadcast of the Olympic Games.

As part of the Olympic fanfare, tour attendees will be invited to record video messages for the Olympic athletes heading to London.

Of course, a few visitors won't walk away empty-handed, either. Panasonic plans to give away 2012 products to users who tweet product photos from the tour stops to the Panasonic #RaisetheBar hash tag. Visitors that check in at Raise the Bar tour stops using Foursquare and Facebook Places will also have the chance to win select prizes.

Panasonic will also give away one trip for two to the London Olympic Games this summer.

"For consumers, seeing is believing. We created the Raise the Bar Tour to give consumers across North America a personal look at all of our exciting 2012 products in home entertainment, personal care and home appliances," said Shiro Kitajima, President of Panasonic Consumer Marketing Company of North America. "Our 2012 product lines have truly raised the bar to a new level for consumers. From our new Smart VIERA Full HD 3D TVs and 3D Blu-ray Disc Home Theater systems to our ever-expanding VIERA Connect IPTV features, LUMIX digital cameras and camcorders and our innovative personal care and home appliances products, visitors to our tour will be able to experience for themselves how amazing and easy-to-use they all are."
