Classé Intros New Delta Power Amplifiers Starting at $5500

By Peter Suciu

There is a reason first class is called first class, and why the upper class is deemed the upper class. It is just a step above the rest. The same can said of Classé, with its reference-standard audio equipment. The company recently announced four new power amps in the Delta series and these powerhouses promise to be anything close to déclassé.

The four new amps in the Delta line include two monaural models: the CA-M300 and the CA-M600 ($5,500 and $7,000 MSRP respectively), which are rated for 300 and 600 watts respectively; and the stereo CA-2300 and multichannel CA-5300 models ($7,000 and $9,500 MSRP respectively), which respectively offer 2x300 and 5x300 watts.

"The original Delta series power amps have created a perception among audiophiles, music professionals, and recording pros alike, that Classé amplifiers belong in the world's most demanding systems," says the firm's Executive VP Brand Development Dave Nauber. "These new amplifiers will validate and reinforce that perception for years to come."

Each of these powered amplifiers builds up the classic Classé features. For the new models in the Delta series, each offers a miniaturized driver-stage circuit, which is almost free of noise and distortion, while delivering precise signal control. The amplification of each unit is processed on a single six-layer circuit board, and to keep the units as cool as smooth jazz, these models feature Classé's ICTunnel, an active cooling system that is based on medical and laser imaging equipment designs.

The CA-M600 features a rounded fascia and aluminum-steel construction, executed to the very highest standards

This technology brings the amp to its ideal operating temperature within 15 minutes of initial power-on, and holds it there. The Intelligent Cooling Tunnel ensures that the temperature remains in its optimum range no matter how hard the amp is driven. And don't be too conerned over power consumption while not in use as the amp only uses 0.5 watts while in standby mode.

The Delta series amps feature a range of controls and diagnostic features to ensure the best sound possible in any enviroronment.  For those who wish to integrate the amps into a custom automation system, ports include USB, CAN Bus, IR, DC Trigger and even RS-232 for maximum flexibility. Each of the four new Classé Delta models share the stylish rounded fascia and aluminum-steel casings. These four models join the existing CA-2100 (2x100 watts). All four new models will be available at retail later this month.
