NHT Birthday Sale: Home Theater Speakers, Subwoofers 18 Percent Off

By Rachel Cericola

Editor's Note: According to NHT, the company is postponing the 18 percent off birthday celebration due to shipment delays. The new sales date is TBD. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Happy birthday NHT! The company is celebrating its 18th birthday. However, you're the one that could be receiving the gifts.

For the next week, OneCall is offering up a large selection of NHT speakers and subwoofers, all at a discount. To commemorate the company's 18th birthday, you can snag select NHT products for 18 percent off the list price from now through May 23, 2011. We took a quick peek, and the selection includes 20 different speaker products, with four different subs also on sale. Take a look at the entire list of NHT products on the OneCall website:

The Sanus EF 24 speaker stands are NOT included with the NHT Super Surround set; it's just the audio goodies.

If you're looking for a complete speaker setup, look no further than the NHT Super Surround 5.1-Channel Home Theater Speaker System. This package includes five of the NHT SuperZero 2.0 Bookshelf Speakers and the Super 8 Powered Subwoofer. Our own Ian White recently reviewed this set saying, "If you think you can assemble a better 5.1 system for under $800, you would be wrong." (Read his NHT Super Zero 2.0 Speakers with Super 8 Subwoofer Review for more info.)

Of course, you won't need $800, because this set is currently priced well below that, at $655.18 shipped. That means you can save a hearty $143.82 off this full set's regular retail price. Of course, you can also buy the Super 8 8-inch sub on its own, as well as the SuperZero 2.0 Bookshelf Speakers. Don't be shy; both are still on sale when purchased individually.

For something a little larger, check out the Absolute Tower Speaker. Sold individually, these 3-way speakers measure 36 by 5.75 by 7.25 inches. That size packs a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter, a 5.25-inch polypropylene cone midrange driver, and two 5.25-inch polypropylene woofers into each cabinet. Ian took a peek at these last year, as part of the Absolute 5.1T package, saying that they are "one of the best sub-$1500 loudspeakers that I have ever heard." (Read his full NHT Absolute 5.1T System Featuring Absolute Tower Speaker Review.)

Yes, they are under $1500; way under, actually. OneCall is currently selling these for $409.18 each. That also includes free shipping.

You may not be able to hide your bad taste in music, but you can hide a few NHT IC3 In-Ceiling Speakers. These 2-way, 6.5-inch speakers are designed for in-ceiling placement around the house, or as rear speakers in your home theater setup. Featuring NHT's patented 3-tweeter array, this pair boasts a broad dispersion and even response up to 60 degrees off axis.

Both the outdoor NHT O2 (left) and the in-ceiling NHT IC3 (right) are also on sale.

Also, if you didn't see a little something that you liked in our Top 5 Outdoor Speakers roundup, check out the NHT O2. This all-weather speaker knows how to get the outdoor party started, with custom-designed drivers to withstand the elements and keep critters out. Featuring a 1-inch soft dome tweeter, the O2 should be easy to install via the integrated "C-Clamp" style bracket.

It's important to remember that this sale is only for a few days, from now through May 23, 2011. Also, OneCall is offering free shipping with all of these NHT discounts, so start shopping for those speakers today!
