Meridian Introduces Digital Active In-Wall Speakers

By Rachel Cericola

Meridian has a little something for your wall. At this week's CEDIA Expo, the company announced a whole range of Digital Active In-wall Loudspeaker models. The newly announced line includes the DSP520 speaker, the DSP630 speaker, and the DSW600 in-wall subwoofer.

Each of the new speakers has the company's proprietary SpeakerLink cabling technology, as well as a 140mm bass driver and an 85mm wide-range driver.

The new line was modeled after the company's popular M6 loudspeaker, which was released earlier this year. Meridian says that both models should have a similar performance, with the DSP630 rocking out higher sound pressure levels and extended bass. That's because it's slightly larger, and includes two of those bass drivers. Each of the drivers is powered its own amplifier, promising immersive, powerful sound.

At a slim 7.87 inches wide each, each speaker has a back-box and frame system to allow for precise positioning and adjustment.

If you're looking to add boom to your room, the DSW600 subwoofer has triple bass drivers and complements the full range loudspeakers.

At press time, Meridian had yet to announce pricing or shipping info for any of the new models. However, the company says that all of the new offerings will perfectly match Merdian's existing stand-alone loudspeakers, as well as the newly announced Media Source 200.
