Home Theater Deal: MartinLogan Motion 262 5-Channel Speakers with Yamaha 7.1 RX-V567 Receiver: $899.99 (Save $479.95)

We've spent the week highlighting a few fine freebies we've discovered in Amazon's home theater audio department. Just when you thought they were finished handing out goodies, we have one more to entice you into a new audio setup and it's a doozy.

For a limited time, when you buy MartinLogan's Motion 262 speaker system, Amazon will throw in Yamaha's RX-V567 7.1-channel receiver absolutely free. As the control center of your home theater, a receiver can be the most important part of your A/V rig. If you don't have one (or a recent one), this just may be the deal you've been waiting for. Find out more about what Amazon is offering right here:

That MartinLogan set includes a total of five speakers. Four Motion 2 units can handle front and rear surrounds, while the Motion 6 serves as the center channel. All five have a rated frequency response of 120Hz-25kHz so you'll definitely want to add on a subwoofer (more on that below).  Where these speakers really sing is in the midrange and high frequencies, courtesy of MartinLogan's unique Folded Motion Tweeter, which boasts a dynamic, open transparent sound in those critical mid and high frequencies. The speakers look pretty sweet, too, with a curved design, high tech perforated metal grille and shiny black finish.

Our own Dennis Burger took a long listen to these speakers recently. He gushed over this set, saying that "the clarity is exceptional." In fact, the review went so well that we gave the setup our 2010 BIGGIE Award. Check out his full review of MartinLogan's Motion 262 system or head on over to Amazon to order yourself a set:

These are some sweet speakers. However, the fact that Amazon is throwing in a free receiver certainly makes the whole package more enticing. And the fact that it's a Yamaha, known for their exceptional sound quality, makes this deal all the better.  Yamaha's 7.1-channel RX-V567 receiver boasts 90 watts per channel, four 3D-ready HDMI inputs, Audio Channel Return, HDMI CEC functionality, four SCENE buttons, and the YPAO Sound Optimization system. Also, there are plenty of add-on options, including the YDS-12 Universal iPod Dock and the YBA-10 Bluetooth receiver. Find out more about this receiver on Amazon's product page:

As we mentioned above, the MartinLogan Motion speakers crave a powered subwoofer to really sound their best.  Prices of these are all over the map, but there are relative bargains to be had here, too.  On the low priced end, we'd recommend Polk's PSW10 for around $100.  It's a budget-friendly powerhouse that will rock your world.  If you want to pair the Motion's up with a slightly higher performance companion, consider MartinLogan's own Dynamo 300 sub for around $300.  And if you want both musicailty and deep bass extension for a larger room, then check out MartinLogan's slightly larger Dynamo 500 which is currently on sale for a little over $400.  Any of these is a valid choice depending on your budget.

To get the free receiver, you must place both items into your shopping cart. The discount (including free shipping!) will be reflected during the checkout process. Also, when you add those items, make sure you are ordering from Amazon -- and not one of the retailer's third-party merchants. Adding the items from the main offer page is simplest as this will guarantee that you get the discount. If you don't want to miss out on this great deal, you'd better start clicking! Amazon's offer expires on April 30, 2011, or whenever the retailer runs out of stock.
