MartinLogan Gets into Soundbar Business with Motion Vision

By Rachel Cericola

MartinLogan certainly makes some beautiful music. And now, they are doing it with just one speaker. The company just announced plans to enter the soundbar market, with the Motion Vision.

The Motion Vision has that simple, single-cabinet design like every other soundbar out there. However, MartinLogan is making this one a standout with a few differences. This entry into MartinLogan's Motion Series features three of the company's Folded Motion tweeters, four 4-inch woofers, and even dedicated amplifiers to rock 100 watts of total power.

Designed to deliver 5-channel surround sound from a single package, MartinLogan says that this unit can reproduce multi-channel recordings and much more. The slick cabinet also has dual rear-firing bass ports and bass that can be adjusted plus or minus 10dB. If you need a little more oomph, the Motion Vision also has a built-in SWT-2 transmitter, which allows listeners to add in a compatible wireless MartinLogan subwoofer. (Of course, you could also opt for non-wireless, too.)

Other features include a dimmable LED display, brushed aluminum accents on the top control panel, and a high-gloss, piano black finish. Also, the Motion Vision pairs the built-in amplification with digital optical, digital coaxial, and analog stereo inputs for a simple setup. Speaking of which, the Motion Vision is easy to place on a shelf, or you can mount it with the included bracket.

MartinLogan is shipping the Motion Vision soundbar now, with an MSRP of $1499.95.
