Squeezebox Radio Will Rock You with Exclusive New Tracks from Queen
By Rachel Cericola
Logitech's new motto: "We will rock you" -- exclusively!
The company just announced a partnership with the rock band Queen, which will give them exclusive rights to the new Queen Absolute Greatest album. They will then pass that off as an exclusive to Logitech Squeezebox Radio users, up until the album hits shelves on November 17.
For seven weeks, Squeezebox Radio owners have exclusive access to the album, track lyrics, commentary, and a series of Queen photographs. We're wondering how long it takes someone to get these to the web for all to enjoy (but that would be wrong).
Either way, it's the first time that an album has ever been launched this way. At least, it's the first one that we know about.
Logitech announced the Squeezebox Radio earlier this month. Packing a 3/4-inch tweeter and a 3-inch woofer, the unit offers instant access to thousands of free radio stations, as well as streaming DRM-free iTunes Plus downloads, Napster, Pandora, Rhapsody, SIRIUS, and Last.fm (some subscription fees may apply).
The Squeezebox Radio is currently available from Logitech.com for $199.99. Amazon should have it any day now, and is currently accepting orders. Also, if you move fast, you can even get a limited edition one in red.
