Logitech Rocks the Room with Z906 Surround Speakers

By Rachel Cericola

Your list of devices in need of good audio just keeps on growing. Some audio systems just can't handle the video, gaming and other boxes and gadgets that are part of today's A/V setup. Thankfully, Logitech's Z906 Surround Sound Speakers can handle at least six of them, making this a nice overall solution to enhance the sound of your TV or home theater system.

Over the years, we've seen how Logitech can rock a desktop with the company's various computer speakers. A few years back, they unleashed something slightly larger, the Z-5500 Digital 5.1 Speaker System. Now, the Z906 spreads that love (and sound) to even bigger areas of the home, promising THX certification and 500 watts (RMS) of power from a full, but compact, 5.1-surround sound system.

The Z906 also boasts an easy setup, even when hooking it to six different devices. That means you can have your TV, Blu-ray player, PlayStation 3, a streaming media player, and pretty much every other audio/video essential getting this audio boost.

The Z906 is a THX-certified 5.1 system that boasts 500 watts (RMS) of theater-quality sound.

Designed to belt out both Dolby Digital or DTS soundtracks, Logitech says that the Z-5500 can even convert two-channel stereo into an immersive surround sound experience. Some of that oomph comes from the included side-firing 165-watt subwoofer.

The easy-to-read console has a stackable design, so it can fit right into your entertainment system.

Other features include a console, featuring an easy-to-read display and an easy-to-stack design. That means the console can slide right into an available slot in your existing A/V cabnet. The Z906 also has its own wireless  remote. Finally, all of the satellites are wall-mountable for easy, clutter-free placement.

Amazon doesn't have the Z906 available for preorder just yet. However, the Logitech Z906 Surround Sound Speakers should start shipping this month. The MSRP is listed at $399.
