The idea of an energy-saving HDTV may sound silly, but every bit certainly helps, especially if it's also entertaining. Sony's 46-inch KDL46EX710 LED boasts a few unique features that cut down on power consumption and pump up the image on this 1080p HDTV.

TigerDirect is doing its part to be green as well -- or at least save you some green. They are offering $500 off the KDL46EX710 and throwing in free shipping. However, you'll need to use coupon code TOZ14452 to get the complete savings. Check out this HDTV on TigerDirect's product page:

This HDTV features LED edge backlight, which boasts a more efficient, brighter image. Other energy-saving features include a Presence Sensor, which detects if you've stepped away from the TV. If you've stepped far away and into another town, the Energy Saving switch can set the TV's power consumption to zero.

Other features on the KDL46EX710 include a BRAVIA Engine 3 processor, Motionflow 120Hz technology, and an ambient sensor that adjusts the image based on your room's lighting conditions.

If you want to add more entertainment into this set's setup, it can access BRAVIA Internet Video, which provides on-screen access to services like Netflix, YouTube, Pandora and much more. You can also add your own extras, using the set's four HDMI inputs. One other noteworthy feature is that this set comes ready for Wi-Fi, with use of Sony's UWA-BR100 USB adapter.

This a great option for the living room, basement, game room, or all three. Just make sure to use coupon code TOZ14452 to get the extra savings. TigerDirect says that this special pricing is good from now through December 11, 2010, or whenever the retailer runs out of stock.
