Kicker Starts Shipping Tabor Bluetooth Wireless Headphones

By Rachel Cericola

A good pair of headphones can give you the freedom to take your most essential audio selections almost anywhere. However, Kicker Performance Audio is taking that freedom a step further, by making its newly announced Tabor Headphones completely wireless.

The Tabor has Bluetooth with aptX, so that users can stream music right to their head (or at least the headphones), from any iOS and Android portables, as well as other compatible devices. A few additional perks include support for A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) and HFP (Hands-Free Profile).

It also has 50mm dynamic drivers to deliver all of your favorite movies, music, games and even phone calls. Capable of output up to 118dB, the Tabor boasts a frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz, a sensitivity rating of 101 dB/1mW, and 32 ohms impedance. Other features include a lightweight chassis, cushy over-ear pads, a built-in microphone and simple-to-use controls.

The Tabor also has a micro-USB port for charging the headphones. According to Kicker, the unit can deliver 10 hours of playback after 2.5 hours of charging time. If that isn't enough, the Tabor also has a 3.5mm stereo auxiliary jack and a cable with an integrated microphone and simple controls for iOS and Android devices.

"When Bluetooth enters the picture, nine times out of 10, audio performance just as quickly exits. With the Tabor, though, our goal wasn't just to be one-in-10, but rather one-in-a-million," said Steve Irby, president and co-founder of Kicker. "Combine Kicker's peerless audio performance with the convenience of Bluetooth wireless connectivity and instinctive controls, and you've got a headphone that any music fan will love."

Kicker Performance Audio is shipping its Tabor Bluetooth Wireless Headphones now, with an MSRP of $179.95.
