Kicker Personal Audio Debuts Bluetooth Speaker and 2 Headphone Products

By Rachel Cericola

At this week's CES 2014, Kicker Performance Audio is adding sound solutions for both in and outside of the home. The company just announced two separate headphone products, as well as a new Bluetooth audio speaker.

The Kicker Amphitheater K3 is a mid-size Bluetooth speaker for those with a small budget. It's the first Kicker wireless speaker to use aptX audio coding technology, which allows for wireless Bluetooth streaming without sacrificing any of the sound quality.

Designed to work with Bluetooth-enabled smartphones, tablets, and computers, the Amphitheater K3 can play a variety of music, whether it's from your personal collection, a streaming website, or an app.

Other features include an integrated amp, mid-bass woofers, a tuned-port enclosure, a USB port, and a 3.5mm auxiliary input. It also has support for near-field communication (NFC) technology for pairing compatible devices to the speaker with ease.

Kicker plans to start shipping the Amphitheater K3 sometime during the first quarter. Expect the unit to be priced at $199.95.

For something slightly more personal, Kicker has also introduced a pair of headphone products. Vapor Premium Headphones are light, but include a pair of 35mm dual-diaphragm transducers, an acoustically tuned cup design, and sealed ear pads with a trapezoidal shape. Those same ear pads are also pretty soft, with leather that's designed to fit comfortable and exact. Other features include a flat, tangle-free cable, a three-button remote for iOS devices, and a microphone.

Available in black with yellow color accents, a stainless steel headband, and a folding design for easy storage, the Vapor Premium Headphones will start shipping sometime in the first quarter of 2014. The MSRP is listed at $219.95.

For something even more compact, there's the Cypher Premium In-Ear Headset. This black headset has yellow color accents, two-way reception, and a three-button remote for use with iOS devices. The flat cable also has an integrated microphone and a tangle-free design. Other features include an angled plug, as well as four sets of silicone ear tips for a customized fit.

The Cypher Premium In-Ear Headset will begin shipping around the same time as the other two newly announced products, sometime in the first quarter of 2014. The product's MSRP will be $129.95.
