Jamo 360 Speakers are Like Having Your Own Little Death Star

By Rachel Cericola

There are a lot of speaker options out there. Of course, the quality does vary. However, the one thing that most speakers seem to have in common is that big, boxy design. Jamo is setting itself apart from the pack, with the new Jamo 360 Speaker Series.

Of course, there are speakers that do go outside of that box shape. However, all three of the new models in this series have a slick, spherical design. In fact, each one looks like a mini Death Star, don't you think?

However, Jamo promises the Force is with these speakers -- or at least the force of Danish design. These funky enclosures pack in patented Omnipolar technology, which position the tweeter and woofer baffle so that the sound is dispersed in all directions. That type of delivery also means that you can place these little guys almost anywhere and they're going to provide the same type of audio experience to every spot in the room.

The 360 Series features three models: the 360 S 25 and 360 S 35 Satellite Speakers and the 360 C 35 Center Channel. All three have aluminum dome tweeters and long-throw woofers, allowing more air, which means low frequencies and extended bass response.

The S 35 features a frequency response of 108Hz-23kHz, 4 ohms nominal impedance, and a sensitivity rating of 83dB.

"With the Jamo 360 Series, we introduce truly unique sound solutions that combine Danish design and Jamo audio performance at their finest," said Mark Casavant, senior vice president of global product development. "Due to the speakers' elite engineering, listeners experience open, clear and undeniably musical sound via unobtrusive, visually appealing speakers that enhance any room both visually and sonically."

Jamo is selling the 350 Series in two 5.0 passive home theater packages. The 360 S 35 HCS has four of the 360 S 35 speakers with one 360 C 35 center channel. The 360 S 25 HCS has five of the S 25 speakers. Jamo recommends pairing either set with the company's Sub 800 subwoofer.

Both 360 HCS sets are available in high-gloss black or high-gloss white finishes. Each one also has brushed-aluminum bases and metallic grilles. Jamo says that the speakers can be wall-mounted, but has included binding posts in the bases for clean cable management.

Look for the Jamo 360 S 35 HCS and 360 S 25 HCS to start selling this month, with MSRPs of $999.99 and $649.99, respectively.
