Integra Unveils DHC-80.3 Processor, DTR-80.3 and DTR-70.3 Receivers

By Rachel Cericola

Integra was certainly a busy bunch at last week's CEDIA Expo in Indianapolis. The company just announced three new products, and they're all 9.2-channel THX Ultra2 Plus-certified systems.

Besides the THX accolades, the DHC-80.3 AV preamp controller, as well as the DTR-80.3 and DTR-70.3 AV receivers all feature new IDT HQV Vida VHD1900 video processing, Audyssey DSX, Dolby Volume processing, Dolby ProLogic IIz, and the promise of better networking and streaming media capabilities.

Each one also has new DTS Neo:X dimensional surround processing. According to Integra, this is an industry first, using 2.0/5.1/6.1/7.1-to- 9.1/11.1 conversion technology within a single algorithm.

The trio also comes packing Windows 7 and DLNA support, front and rear USB ports, and RS-232, IR and on-board Ethernet for network connectivity and TCP/IP control. Those USB ports can be used for connecting external devices, such as an iPod or iPhone. However, those portables can also be hooked up with an optional dock via Integra's proprietary Universal Port. Integra has an optional HD Radio Tuner for that port, and is planning to some additional wireless goodies in the near future.

That DHC-80.3 AV preamp processor has high-end balanced XLR outputs. This unit, along with the DTR-80.3 AV receiver, have high-current power supplies with toroidal transformers. The DTR-70.3 has a slightly different three-transformer power supply configuration with separate supplies for each major circuitry division. The DTR-70.3 and DTR-80.3 promise powerful, low-distortion WRAT amplifier stages, with 135- and 145-watts-per-channel, respectively.

All three units can provide access to web radio and streaming music services, with preformatted service packages for Spotify, Mediafly, Pandora, Slacker, Napster, Rhapsody, vTuner, SIRIUS XM Internet Radio, and Last.fm.

"While 4k video displays are now few and far between, we see that changing over the next 12 months, especially in the high-end and commercial installs," said Keith Haas, Integra's director of sales. "We are also pleased with the ever-improving networking capabilities that actually make it possible to improve a product after the customer buys it. With added streaming services, wireless features, and ongoing support upgrades, our customers get new value added on a regular basis."

Integra also recently announced the immediately availability of free remote control apps for iPod/iPhone and Android wireless devices. These work with all 2011 Integra processors and receivers.
