Home Theater Speaker Deal: Save 60 to 75 Percent on Energy Veritas Speakers

By Chris Boylan

We're big fans of compact home theater speaker systems, but only if you've got a small room or nowhere to place a larger speaker system.  For larger living rooms and home theaters, there's nothing like a good set of tower speakers.  And for the next few days, Amazon marketplace seller Worldwide Stereo is selling select models in Energy's high-end Veritas loudspeaker line-up at a huge discount.

The models on sale are the Energy Veritas V-5.2 Center for $219.99 (list is $549.99) and the Veritas V-6.2 floorstanding tower speaker for $299.99 (list is $1199.99).  Put these together with some of Energy's smaller speakers for the side and rear surround, and a good subwoofer (or two) and you'll have a killer home theater speaker system, at home in even the largerst home theater or living room for a nominal outlay of cash.

Here are the links to find out more or to buy these speakers on Amazon:

Energy Veritas System
Mix and match: with 60 to 75% off Energy's Veritas line, you can afford to put together your own custom home theater system.

Energy is a Canadian speaker company well-known by audiophiles and A/V hobbyists.  Their high-end Veritas speakers garner great reviews in specialty publications such as Home Theater Magazine and Audioholics.  And those reviews were based on their list prices, not the discounted prices available here. The Veritas line offers a revealing, well-balanced sound, with outstanding fit and finish.

If you plan to use these for home theater, you'll probably want to add smaller speakers for the side and rear surround.  For that you can use the V-Mini bookshelf speakers (currently on sale for $119.95 each, instead of $239.99), but we'd recommend the Veritas V-S instead (currently $249.99 each instead of $529.99).  The V-S is a bi-pole/di-pole (switchable) speaker that provides a spacious soundfield for the side and rear surrounds.  They'd also work well as a height channel speaker in a nine channel (9.1) or eleven channel (11.1) DTS NEO:X or Dolby Pro Logic IIZ configuration.

To complete the system, you'll need a subwoofer (or better yet, two, for best overall frequency response).  Many subwoofers would be a good match for this system, but if you want to stay within the Energy brand, then there are a couple of options.

The Energy ESW-M8 is a petite power house featuring an 8-inch driver with 1200 watts of peak power.  Its cabinet is a tiny 9 inch cube so it can be hidden away quite nicely.  As far as frequency reponse, it goes down to about 36 Hz which is amazingly low for the size.  It too is on sale right now for $299 (normally $849).  Another option would be the larger EW100 subwoofer.  This one extends down to 29 Hz so it will provide even more low end oomph than its smaller sibling.

If you're looking for something to give your home theater that real theatrical feel, but don't want to take out a loan to pay for the speakers, check out this deal.  Offer ends November 30 or while supplies last.
