Home Theater Deal: Yamaha RX-V571BL Receiver, Mirage Nanosat 5.1 Speakers: $599.99 (Save $700)

By Enid Burns

Have a holly jolly home theater Christmas. If you're in the market for a home theater receiver and speaker system, a combo deal from Amazon.com will easily put you in the holiday spirit. If you put both the Yamaha RX-V571BL AV Receiver and Mirage Nanosat 5.1 Small High-Performance 5.1 Speaker System in your cart, you'll get this high-end home theater combo not for the list price of $1299 or even for Amazon's normally discounted price of $1049, but you'll get all this great gear for just $599.99. That's a significant savings ($700!).

Amazon.com says that will offer this combo at the $599 price through December 31, 2011, but that's only if current stock last that long.  At these prices, we doubt they'll last.  You can read more about this deal, adding the items to your cart from this offer page on Amazon:

The Yamaha RX V571BL offers many advanced home theater features including 6-in/1-out HDMI with 3D and Audio Return Channel compatibility

The Yamaha RX-V571BL AV Receiver is a 7.1-channel surround sound system that offers HD Audio format decoding, Analog and HDMI video upscaling to full 1080p and high-end Burr-Brown DAC's for all channels. The front panel offers  USB input, so you can easily plug in an iPhone or other device as a source.

Expect a lot of power from the Yamaha RX-V571BL AV Receiver: it's rated at 105 Watts/Channel. It features a 6-in/1-out HDMI with 3D passthrough and Audio Return Channel compatibility, HD Audio with CINEMA DSP compatibility, YPAO sound optimization and SCENE function.

If both items are in your cart, you should see a discount applied during check-out to bring the total down to $599.99.
While the receiver is capable of 7.1-channel surround sound, the Mirage Nanosat System is a 5.1-channel system.  Five channels plus a powered sub is normally enough sound to fill a room, and the receiver can easily be configured for 5.1 surround.  And, if you feel the need for a full 7.1 channel system you can easily add two additional channels at a later time.

The speakers in the Mirage Nanosat 5.1 system are small in proportion, but pack a lot of punch. The speakers are smaller than a softball, and use a patented Omnipolar Technology, which provides huge, lifelike sound by radiating sound in all directions instead of narrowly beaming it at the listener. A matched 300 watt subwoofer (75w RMS) provides booming bass to support the other channels.

The Mirage Nanosat system includes wall mounts for each of the speakers with the set, so the small speakers can hang from the best possible location in the room.  Do be sure to pibk up some speaker cable though, as you won't find that in the box.

To get the discounted package deal, be sure to put both the receiver and the speaker system in your cart from the offer page.  If you've done it right, you should see the promotional discount added (well, subtracted) from your cart so the total comes in at $599.99.  It's like getting the receiver for free when you buy the speakers at an already discounted price.
