HDTV Deal: 42-inch 1080p Westinghouse LED TV: $489.99 Shipped (LD-4255VX)

By Rachel Cericola

Remember when the idea of adding an HDTV into your home seemed like it was going to be an impossible, expensive task? Neither do we. Now our biggest problem is that we are spoiled, and want that same HD experience in every room in the house.

Amazon wants to make that a little easier, offering a 42-inch Westinghouse LD-4255VX 1080p LED HDTV as today's Gold Box Deal. The price on this set is $489.99, which includes free shipping. That price makes this a no-brainer for the living room, the basement, and even the bedroom. Take a look at the deal on Amazon's main Gold Box page:

This is a very nice price for an HDTV that features a full 1080p HD image. That type of image promises the ultimate viewing experience, with big beautiful colors, extremely cool explosions, lifelike sporting events, and much more.

Also, because this is an LED HDTV, this set can deliver those awesome images in an energy-efficient manner. In fact, Westinghouse says that this HDTV actually uses 20 percent less energy than a standard 100-watt light bulb. Of course, it's a lot prettier (and more entertaining) than a lightbulb, featuring a slim design with a 1-inch profile.

Other features include a 120Hz refresh rate, a dynamic contrast ratio of 100,000:1, a response time of 6.5 milliseconds, and two HDMI inputs. Find out more about Westinghouse's LD-4255VX on Amazon's product page:

This a very nice price for a full 1080p LED TV. However, all good things must come to an end, and in this case, it comes to an end pretty quickly. Because this is Amazon's Gold Box Deal, this discount is only being offered for today, Thursday, March 24, 2011 -- or until the retailer runs out of stock.
