Epson Bows High Brightness 2D/3D Home Cinema 750HD Projector for Under $900

By Greg Robinson

Here at the International CES in Las Vegas, Epson has unveiled its newest 2D/3D projector designed for the home theater market, the Home Cinema 750HD. And with its high brightness, low, low price tag, and 3D capability, the 750HD is sure to find its share of fans.

Capable of outputting a whopping 3,000 lumens of white brightness, the 750HD is now the brightest home theater projector in Epson's stable. This full HD 3LCD light cannon features active shutter 3D technology, providing 720p resolution for 3D viewing.

""The Home Cinema 750HD is ready to display 3D from virtually any Blu-ray player, cable box or video game console right out of the box, unlike other 3D 720p projectors on the market today that are not compatible with Blu-ray players or game consoles, and require an additional format convertor for true 3D," said Jason Palmer, marketing manager, Epson America.

The 750HD includes one pair of active shutter, RF-based 3D glasses, which Epson claims will last up to 40 hours on a full charge or up to 3 hours on a new "3-minute quick charge." Other features include a 1.2x optical zoom lens for installation flexibility, a single  integrated speaker, 5000 hours of lamp life, plus an innovative new "Instant Off" technology for zero wait time when powering the projector up or down.

Epson's 750HD will sell for $899 when it becomes available in late March.
