Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sales Come Early to Online Retailers

By Chris Boylan

Getting excited about waking up at the crack of dawn to wait in lines this Black Friday and fight with your neighbors over a cheap HDTV or Blu-ray player? No? Neither are we. And major eTailers, such as Amazon, OneCall and Vanns are  making it easier to avoid the scramble this year by offering up Black Friday-style deals early and often throughout the holiday shopping season.  We've also included links to the Cyber Monday deals of select online retailers.

In the early days of internet shopping, it used to be that Black Friday was the exclusive domain of brick and mortar retailers, with the online stores offering their best bargains a few days later on what came to be known as "Cyber Monday."  This was the day that consumers returned to work, to their faster network connections and started their online shopping in earnest.  But now the major online vendors are hoping to tap into that holiday shopping frenzy early.  Many online stores have set up a Black Friday Deals section of their Web sites already, some of which are live now, and others which will go live over the course of the next few days with new deals being offered when the old ones sell out.  Be sure to disable any pop-up blockers in your browser in order to follow the links below.

A Panasonic 50-inch 1080p 3D TV for $1599, with free shipping, free Blu-ray 3D player, two pairs of 3-D
glasses and three movies (including "Avatar 3D") is just one of the Black Friday Deals available now.

Amazon

The online megastore has a grand plan for the holiday shopping season with major deals kicking in on Monday, November 22 and lasting through Saturday, November 27. Deals will vary but expect a good selection of electronics items, including HDTVs, 3D TVs, Blu-ray players, speakers and more. Also, on the software side, expect to see great deals on Blu-ray Discs, DVDs and games, as well as popular electronics gift items such as digital cameras, headphones, MP3 players and more.

Once the smoke clears from Black Friday, Amazon will shift to a two-day Cyber Monday event, November 28-29, and then kick into an extended "Top Holiday Deals" event running from November 30 to December 23.
