Denon Pumps Up TV Sound with DHT-T110 TV Speaker Base

By Rachel Cericola

We've seen a ton of companies putting out soundbars recently. It's certainly a convenient option for smaller or even secondary entertainment spaces. Now, a few manufacturers are looking to sneak sound into another spot: under your TV.

Denon is latest to release a soundbase product, known as the DHT-T110 TV Speaker Base. The DHT-T110 is a single speaker that isn't supposed to be wall-mounted. Instead, it's designed to live directly under the TV.

Despite the slim package, the DHT-T110 packs in two 2-by-5-inch oval-shape drivers and two 0.5-inch dome tweeters, which are driven by a digital amplifier. It even has two bass tubes in the back of the unit, to tackle all of the bass.

The real secret sauce, however, is in the digital signal processing. Denon has included Dolby Digital decoding and Virtual Surround Sound technology. Other features include three sound modes, a Night Mode to keep the peace throughout the house during late-night viewing, and advanced dynamic bass audio processing.

As an added bonus, the DHT-T110 also has Bluetooth with aptX, so you can wirelessly stream music to the speaker from any smartphone, tablet or other compatible device.

Built to hold TVs up to 60 pounds, the DHT-T110 should slide perfectly under most TVs up to 50 inches. It also offers an easy setup process, with optical and coax inputs, as well as an analog input.

Denon will start shipping the DHT-T110 in mid-October, with an MSRP of $349.
