By Rachel Cericola

Happy holidays, indeed! If you have a 3D TV setup, you've probably been waiting and wondering when Blu-ray 3D titles would start flowing into retail stores. According to the trade association DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group, a total of 40 titles will be out and about before the end of 2010.

Out of those titles, 10 will debut on November 16, right before Black Friday. Also, 13 will be manufacturer exclusives. Panasonic will get Avatar in addition to Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Coraline. Samsung started off with Monsters vs. Aliens, is moving into How to Train Your Dragon, and will also get IMAX: Galapagos, IMAX: Into the Deep 3D, and all four Shrek movies. Sony will get Bolt and Alice in Wonderland, although Alice will also be available through retail channels later. Also, Best Buy is the lone retailer to get an exclusive, snagging the horror remake of My Bloody Valentine.

The following Blu-ray 3D titles are available for purchase right now:

Here is what's coming on November 16, 2010:

Here's what we can expect for the rest of 2010 and early 2011:

The DEG says that we can expect a few additional titles, although no release dates have been announced. Those include AIX Records 3D Music Album Demo & Calibration Disc, Alice in Wonderland, Goldberg Variations Acoustic, IMAX: Into the Deep 3D, Mozart, and Mummies 3D: Secrets of the Pharaohs.

According to DEG, Blu-ray 3D players currently account for almost 25 percent of stand-alone Blu-ray player sales. With Blu-ray 3D titles, 3D broadcast channels, and 25 upcoming 3D video games, we can expect another 1000 hours of 3D broadcast programming over the next 12 months.
