Tablet Deals: Extra $20 Off Nook and Nook Tablet with MasterCard (2 Days Only)

By Rachel Cericola

We've been talking a lot about HDTV sales over the past few days. However, there are plenty of big deals on teeny devices as well.

The tablet category is certainly going to be a hot seller again this year. However, they may be just a little bit hotter today. Barnes & Noble is running a Cyber Monday promotion, in hopes that shoppers may stuff a Nook or two into stockings this season.

Update: Barnes and Noble has extended this offer to end on Tuesday, November 27th.

Order the Nook today using your MasterCard, and Barnes & Noble will give you a free $20 gift card. This offer is only good today and tomorrow (Monday, November 26 and Tuesday, November 27, 2012) on the purchase of the Nook Simple Touch, the Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight, the Nook Color, or the Nook Tablet. Find out more about all four devices, as well as this offer, on the Barnes & Noble website:

This offer is good on the Nook Simple Touch, the Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight, the Nook Color, and the Nook Tablet

At just $99, the Nook Simple Touch is an easy, affordable way to take tons of reading material on the go. This is the Nook's least expensive model, but it does offer features like the E Ink display and Best-Text, for easy reading. It also provides access to over 2.5 million books, magazines and more, via the Nook store and the device's built-in WiFi support. And according to B&N, the Nook Simple Touch can deliver up to 2 months' worth of reading time on each charge.

The next level up in the line is the Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight. At $119, this is very similar to the original Simple Touch. However, it ditches the ads and bumps up the power via Glowlight technology. This perk makes the device perfect for low-light reading. Other features include adjustable fonts, built-in anti-glare screen protector, and more.

If you're looking for more than just reading, there's the $139 Nook Color. This model puts all of those books and magazines on a 7-inch VividView touchscreen. It also offers up several app options, such as Angry Birds and other games, music, and much more. It can even access the web and email. Our own Ian White tested out this model and seemed pretty impressed. "Periodicals, illustrated children's books, and magazines look phenomenal and the web browser is quite usable," he said. "The ability to connect to Facebook, Twitter, and Pandora are icing on the cake." Read his entire Barnes and Noble Nook Color eReader Review for more information.

The last model eligible for this offer is the $179 Nook Tablet. Released to tons of accolades late last year, this model has the 7-inch VividView touchscreen, access to 2.5 million books, magazines and apps, email and web support, and an extra-long battery life. It also has app perks like Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora, and much more, right out of the box. Chris Chiarella took a peek at this model when it first came out and said it's "a compact, blazing-fast tablet computer with an eye-popping screen." Find out more in his NOOK Tablet Review.

Once you pick your Nook, make sure to use your MasterCard -- and do it today or tomorrow (Monday, November 26, 2012 and Tuesday, November 27, 2012). That will get you the $20 gift card, which will allow you to test out a few books and apps on that new tablet. Barnes and Noble says that all eGift cards will be e-mailed on or before December 14th, 2012. Limit three per person.  More details on this offer can be found here.

Enjoy!
