Cyber Monday Headphone Deal: Monster Diesel VEKTR: $69.99 (Save $160)

By Chris Boylan

Monster is probably best known in the headphone business for launching (and manufacturing) the popular Beats by Dr. Dre line. They've since parted ways, and Apple has acquired the Beats brand. But Monster is using what they learned to continue to manufacture and sell their own headphones, frequently partnering with other brands to do it.

Case in point, the Monster Deisel VEKTR on-ear headphones, which were created in partnership with the Italian clothing designer, Diesel. The VEKTRs are nothing if not unique-looking, echoing the lines of sleek Italian sports cars. They're also portable, folding down to a manageable size for transportation in their included soft case.

And now Amazon is offering them up on Cyber Monday at a huge discount. You can pick up a pair of them for $69.99 with free shipping ($160 below list) at the following link, while supplies last:

These headphones come with an integrated microphone and volume/playback controls for Apple devices. You can take calls, adjust volume and control playback right on the cord. The mic and center button also work to take calls, play or pause music on Android phones and tablets (though volume control will only work on iOS devices).

Although we have not auditioned these at Big Picture Big Sound, the average Amazon customer review is currently 4.5 out of 5 stars, which is a pretty good indication of quality. Bill Henderson over at the Gadgeteer likes them too, saying, "Underneath that hard-edged, Italian exotic car look, Monster has created a killer sounding headphone that you can wear comfortably all day." And that was based on the original list price of $269.99. Read his full review here.
