CES: NXT's Q-TV2 Enhances Flat Panel TVs with Discreet 2.1 Sound

By Enid Burns

NXT offers a speaker solution to cut the clutter. Leveraging its Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) technology, the Q-TV2 can fill a room with sound, expand the listening radius well outside the norm. The device connects through a headphone jack and mounts behind a flat panel TV.

The Q-TV2 is adjustable for screen sizes ranging from 30" to 42". Three EQ settings allow for different components to connect. An auxiliary input accepts an iPod or MP3 player for music playback.

The discreet speaker system has a thin subwoofer that mounts to the rear of the screen and uses force canceling to minimize vibrations and resonance. Two side speakers peak out from behind the TV and use a BMR loudspeaker driver to throw sound across a wide area courtesy of 100 watts of on-board power.

All speakers fit in a housing that attaches to the wall mount accommodations in the rear of virtually all flat panels. An additional wall mount is optional for those who still want to hang the HDTV.
