CES: Panasonic's SC-SP100 iPod/iPhone Dock Lets You Sync Without Undocking

By Dennis Burger

In addition to their updated HC series of compact stereo systems, Panasonic introduced the ultra-compact SC-SP100 iPod dock at this year's Consumer Electronics Show.

Sporting a cute, curvilinear design, the dock features 20 watts of total power and a compact 2.1-channel speaker system, complete with two 1.5-inch stereo drivers and a 2.5-inch down-firing subwoofer with dual passive radiators for thicker, richer bass from such a tiny package.

The SC-SP100's integrated dock works with the iPhone, and allows you to sync your docked iPhone or iPod with your computer without removing it from the cradle. (A USB connection between the SC-SP100 and your computer is required.)

You can also connect a second audio source -- a CD player, for example -- to the analog audio input on the back of the dock.

The SC-SP100 will begin shipping this month.
