CES: MartinLogan Announces Pricing and Availablity of Motion Series Speakers

By Dennis Burger

MartinLogan officially attached names and prices to their highly anticipated new compact speaker series today at CES. Now known as the Motion Series, the line includes two different bookshelf speakers, two center channels and a pair of floor-standing towers, all of which feature the company's new Folded Motion tweeters mated with traditional drivers. Boasting a slick new curvilinear design and glossy piano black finished, every speaker in the line is designed to perfectly complement MartinLogan's Dynamo Series subwoofers acoustically as well as aesthetically, and all are voice matched to the larger electrostatics for which the company is better known.

The Motion 2 and Motion 4 compact bookshelf speakers are priced at $199.95 and $249.95 each, respectively; Motion 6 and Motion 8 compact center channel speakers will be priced at $299.95 and $399.95 apiece and the big daddies of the line, the Motion 10 and Motion 12 floorstanding tower speakers will retail for $999.95 and $1499.95 per pair. So for less than $1600, you can now build a complete MartinLogan surround sound system (including a subwoofer). Who would have ever thought it possible?
