Bowers & Wilkins Debuts First Pair of Bluetooth Headphones

By Rachel Cericola

These days, it's not enough to just take all kinds of quality music on the go. You also probably don't want to be tethered to your preffered music source. That's because you don't have to be.

There are a lot of companies putting out wireless headphone options. Bowers & Wilkins is the latest, introducing its very first pair of Bluetooth headphones.

To create the newly announced P5 Wireless, the company has cut the cord on its P5 Series 2---literally. This model promises to have all of the same sound perks as its wired counterpart, but without that pesky cord. Instead, the set uses Bluetooth aptX technology to produce the best possible sound from whatever device it's paired with, but without actually having to be connected to it.

That means you can pair the P5 Wireless with a smartphone, tablet or computer and stream everything from stored music and apps to movies and more. It sounds awesome too, with drivers that are based on the company's extremely popular P7. The actual headphones also have play/pause and skip music controls, as well as two microphones for making and taking calls.

Promising up to 17 hours of playback on a single change, the P5 Wireless also includes a cable, just in case you want the option (and are maybe low on battery life). Other features include leather and aluminum materials and a padded carrying case.

Bowers & Wilkins has already started selling the P5 Wireless, with an MSRP of $399.99.
