But who is TCL? TCL (The Creative Life), unlike most of the fly-by-night brands, is actually a well established company in Asia (Southern China). Founded in 1981, TCL maintains the number 1 TV brand in that country. But they haven't really become established in the US yet. And if you think "Made in China" is a stigma, well think again. Many of the big brands (including that young upstart, VIZIO) manufacturer some of their TV products in China. Other major manufacturers use facilities in China, Korea and Japan. Asia is really where it's at for TV manufacturing.
As for this specific TV model, it's a standard 32-inch (diagonal) flat panel LCD TV with CCFL backlighting and a native resolution of 1366x768 pixels (which qualifies as a "720p TV"). It supports connection of both SD and HD sources at 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p for maximum compatibility and picture quality. It has a rated 178 degree viewing angle, and a rated brightness of 420 cd/m².
The set offers numerous inputs, including one rear composite, three HDMI (two rear and one side), one rear component video, one rear RF cable/antenna input, one rear PC video, one rear PC audio, and a side USB 2.0 port. The set supports 720p, 1080i and 1080p/60 Hz inputs over HDMI and component video. For outputs, it offers headphone output, stereo analog audio output, and coaxial digital audio output.
