B&W Debuts C5 In-Ear Noise-Isolating Headphones

By Rachel Cericola

Sometimes you shouldn't share music with the masses. Even more importantly, those masses don't have much to add to that listening experience. Instead of trying to drown out ambient noises with volume, you can strap on a pair of Bowers & Wilkins C5 in-ear headphones.

B&W just announced this high-end headphone option, which features something called the Micro Porous Filter. According to B&W, this acts as a diffuser, which allows the C5 to deliver natural audio and limit noise bleed.

Besides sounding nice, the C5 should also be pretty comfortable. B&W is introducing the proprietary Secure Loop design on this product. That means it has a cushioned loop that fixes comfortably onto the inner ridge of the user's ear. It's adjustable, which should make for a perfect fit every time. Not only does it feel comfortable, but it's also supposed to be pretty secure, which means it won't fall off during daily activities.

Another perk to the C5 is the Tungsten Balanced design. This puts high-mass material closer to the listener's ear, which boasts a better seal for better sound and noise isolation.

The cord is also an important part of the C5, because it features the Made For iPhone seal of approval. This allows users to make calls on the move, as well as control music features.

B&W expects the C5 to start shipping in August, with an MSRP of $179.95.
