Anthem Ships 3D-Ready MRX 500, MRX 700 Home Theater Receivers

Before we start changing calendars, Anthem has a bit of unfinished business. The company just announced plans to fill backorders, by shipping its MRX 500 and 700 home theater receivers.

All of Anthem's MRX receivers have seven channels of amplification, four HDMI inputs (and one output), as well as the ability to play music from an external flash drive, USB drive, or even the web. These new units add in 3D passthrough for movies and TV, when paired with a 3D TV and a source such as a Blu-ray 3D player.

Each unit also supports on-board decoding of the latest audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Pro Logic IIz, and DTS-HD Master Audio. Other features include the Anthem Room Correction (ARC) system so you can get the best possible sound out of your specific listening room.  The receivers also offer Deep Color 1080p upconversion, web radio via the receiver's built-in Ethernet port, and options for a second 2-channel zone.

The MRX 500 offers 100 watts per channel, with the MRX 700 cranking 120 watts to each. The MRX 700 also includes HD Radio support. The optional Anthem MDX 1 Dock, which allows users to add in an iPod or iPhone, will be available for use with both very soon.
